Day of Mourning 2025

Disability Day of Mourning is observed on March 1st to honor people with disabilities who have been murdered by family members or caregivers. The day also raises awareness of the issue of filicide, which is the murder of a disabled person by a family member.

The Self Determination Group, an affiliate of The Arc of DFW Area, will hold a local vigil to commemorate this day. This is a solemn and emotional event.
